Placing Solar Panels in a Transparent Car

 The 2021 World Solar Challenge restricts the length of the car to 4.5 m and width to 2.2 m. Solar panel area is also restricted to 5 sq. me.

If you put the solar panel at your back, like the CUER Resolution, you can rotate the solar panel to achieve the maximum solar exposure, which cannot be done by the other solar car challengers.

The problem with this design is that it is not stable. It actually crashed during the competition in 2013. If it just wider at the back, it may have a chance. It can have 1.5 m x 2 m, fixed at the back, with 1.4 m x 1.4 m  rotatable. at the front.

The Transparent SUV should have a dimension of 1.7 m x 1.3 m x 4 m so should be able to put solar panels at the roof with half of it rotatable. It suffers from high frontal area but can seat 4 people.

All the Transparent Cars should have air suspensions to adjust their ground clearances. It can therefore adjust the tilt of the whole body of the car for maximum solar radiation.

Best Free CFD Tutorial: FreeCAD Openfoam CFD Workbench

I find watching this video boring but the links are userful and the linked tutorial very helpful.
