See the traditionnal Ackermann steering and suspension links. That steering takes up too much weight and space. Differential braking and vectored steering can replace the steering linkages. |

Thi Ecophoton is designed in the same way as the other Solar cars. The motor looks strange to me. It could an induction motor. I cannot see any magnet at the outer rim. Induction motor is a brushless motor without any permanent magnet so is less efficient. Should be easier to make.
The Netherland teams could be making their own motors but they use heat treated aluminium.
