Ebike uses less carbon than cycling

One such activity is traveling one mile by an electric bike. Who would have thought that a mile on electric bike is 20 times more carbon friendly than a mile on a conventional machine? How is that possible? Apparently it is because feeding the rider of a conventional bike is far less carbon efficient than recharging an ebikes' battery. In addition, electric motors are around four times more efficient than human legs in converting chemical energy into power. In fact, Berners-Lee calculates if all the recharge energy came from solar power, the "electric bike would beat the conventional bike by a factor of 1000." Wow!
